As Christians we are constantly called to grow in our walk with God, but so many times we don’t know what steps we can take to grow. Is it just showing up at church on Sunday morning? It should be so much more. At River City we want to provide clear steps to help you grow in your walk with God. Of course we think weekly worship attendance is a great way to experience God, but we are also called to grow in our walk with God individually and through community outside of Sunday morning. River City Electives are designed to jump start and continue that growth.

River City 101
(Lunch Provided)
A 3 week class offered throughout the year led by Pastor Derek. We encourage all those that wish to join River City to take this class as it is the framework of who we are and how we grow in our walk with God. You will learn your unique spiritual personality that will give you suggested ways that you are designed best to experience God. You will learn your spiritual gifts that will equip you to serve God in and outside the church walls. You will learn the uniqueness of the United Methodist Movement that makes disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world all across our globe!

Ongoing Community Groups and Monthly topical Bible Studies. We encourage all of River City to be involved in a Community Group or Bible Study; these are the basis of how we experience True Community through the Love of Jesus Christ. Experiences that draw us closer to God and one another. Specifically Retreats, Mission Trips and other “immersion experiences”. Experiences include Walk to Emmaus, Mission Trips, Church Wide Retreats, etc.
River City 401
These experiences aim to train and equip you for making your life, your family and your everyday encounter a Fresh Expression of God’s grace to the world around you. RC 401 electives will consist of Fresh Expressions and Leadership Development training.
