Our Vision

True Community: All People Fully connected to God, Themselves, One Another.  We are a church that reaches up, in, and out.

Our Core Values

We are a church that REACHES UP to God in worship.
We are a church that REACHES IN to nurture ourselves and one another in a vibrant faith community.
We are a church that REACHES OUT to serve our neighbors.

Our Ministry

We are a church Reaching UP: to God in worship through music, sermons, testimonies, communion, and other expressions of faith; continually inviting the Holy Spirit into our worship. You can join us each Sunday at 10:30am for a worship service. Starting in October, we will be at 4611 Lowe Road, Louisville, Ky 40220

Our Mission

We are a church Reaching IN: to nurture ourselves and one another in a vibrant faith community by creating environments where all people experience true community through the love of Jesus Christ. We have weekly bible studies available, discipleship groups, a recovery ministry, Sunday morning worship, children’s and youth ministries, and being available to walk alongside each other.

Our Outreach

We are a church Reaching OUT: to serve our neighbors by meeting their needs where they are with loving-kindness. Our Outreach is focused through Mission and Evangelism Events as well as Multimedia Marketing.

Leadership Team

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Our History

River City United Methodist Church in Louisville, KY is a part of something much bigger! We are a campus of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and a part of the Louisville Heartland District and Kentucky Annual Conference of United Methodist Churches.

In 2013 St. Matthews put together a team to think about how we could reach outside the walls of the church and bless people that might never drive down Browns Ln. This team came up with our 20/20 Vision and River City UMC is a huge part of that vision. The 20/20 Vision takes the best parts of who we are as a church and expands upon those to lead us into the future. Our hope is that all people will experience true community through the love of Jesus Christ through the ministry of River City UMC.

Being a multi-site congregation gives River City UMC a lot of advantages. Because we belong to a larger and more established church, we can support and be a part of large mission events, such as foreign mission trips and health clinics. We have a deep partnership that will help River City UMC grow to a self-sustaining church. St. Matthews and River City United Methodist Churches are convinced that together we can reach more people with the love of Christ than we can apart.
